My family has been going to Czaplicki Family Dentistry for several years now! They've been great with my own adult needs (including TMJ treatment and adult orthodontia), as well as my daughters'. It's great being somewhere that can also treat children and does it with compassion! We love the hygienists and all doctors we've seen over the years but especially Drs. Don and Cathy!

I have been going to Czaplicki Family Dentistry for many years.  I have never had a more positive and professional experience.  The staff is wonderful and the doctors are so amazingly caring.  They get to know you as a person so that they can provide the best possible care.  They are always aware of the latest and most successful procedures and techniques so you know you are getting the best care.    I would recommend them to everyone... especially those nervous when it comes to dental care.   You will be in great hands.

How Do Clear Aligners Work? A Treatment Timeline

Invisalign and ClearCorrect are both orthodontic systems that use a series of plastic aligner trays to gradually bring the teeth into alignment. When patients from Milwaukee, WI, choose either of these treatment options at our dental practice, they can expect a treatment timeline similar to this:
Most Invisalign treatment plans produce results in around 12 to 18 months.
Most Invisalign treatment plans produce results in around 12 to 18 months.

Imaging

When our dentists determine that Invisalign or ClearCorrect is right for you, we will use our advanced imaging technology to create a highly precise digital model of your bite. We will use this scan to design your custom treatment plan, and we will send the scans to an Invisalign or ClearCorrect lab so they can fabricate your aligners.

Series of Aligners

Once your aligners have been created, they will be mailed either to our office or directly to you. You will need to wear your aligners for about 22 hours a day, and you will typically switch to a new set of aligners about every two weeks. As you wear the aligners in sequence, they will gradually bring your teeth into alignment.

Check Ups

Patients from the greater Milwaukee, WI, area can expect to periodically return to our dental office during their Invisalign or ClearCorrect treatment so our dentists can monitor their progress. The frequency of check ups varies from case to case.

Smile!

After an average of 12 to 18 months, Invisalign and ClearCorrect patients who have followed their treatment guidelines will achieve straighter teeth and a more attractive smile. Patients may also choose to undergo teeth whitening or have veneers placed to further enhance the appearance of their smile.

Maintaining Results

Unfortunately, given the opportunity, the teeth tend to move out of place after orthodontic treatment. At the end of your Invisalign or ClearCorrect treatment, our dentists recommend that you wear a retainer to maintain your results. Many patients choose to use their final set of aligners as a retainer, or we can fabricate custom retainers for you.

Who Qualifies for Invisalign?

Patients with Permanent Teeth

Adolescents, teens, and adults may be able to choose Invisalign or ClearCorrect as an alternative to traditional braces.

Responsible Patients

Only patients who are sure they will be able to keep track of their clear aligners and remember to wear them should consider Invisalign or ClearCorrect.

Patients in Good Oral Health

Patients who suffer from severe dental health issues like decayed teeth or gum disease will need to have those issues addressed before they can qualify for orthodontic treatment.

I've been coming here for about eight years.  Dr. Don fixed what multiple other dentists couldn't.  He did a great job whitening too.  I still travel to see him.

Clear Aligners vs. Traditional Braces

At Czaplicki Family Dentistry in Hales Corners, WI, our dentists provide patients from throughout the greater Milwaukee area with both clear aligner orthodontics and traditional braces. Both orthodontic options can bring your teeth into alignment and produce an attractive smile. Our dentists can examine your bite and recommend which option might be better for you during a consultation.

Invisalign or ClearCorrect Traditional Braces
Diet Patients can remove their trays before eating or drinking, so they do not need to alter their dietary habits. Patients need to alter their diets because the orthodontic appliances can be damaged by sticky, crunchy, or hard foods.
Appearance The Invisalign and ClearCorrect aligners are made of transparent plastic and are very discreet when in place. Braces are usually made of noticeable metal materials, and there is a greater risk of food getting stuck in the wires or brackets.
Hygiene Patients can remove the plastic aligners before brushing or flossing, so they don't need any special cleaning tools. Patients may need to learn new techniques to brush and floss effectively, and to avoid damaging or dislodging their braces.
Adjustments Patients receive multiple aligners at once. They wear the aligner trays in sequence, transitioning to a new tray about once every two weeks. Patients may experience minor discomfort or feelings of tightness for the first few days after switching trays. Patients will need to periodically return to our dental office, serving the greater Milwaukee area, so our team can tighten or replace the wires. Patients may experience minor discomfort or feelings of tightness for the first few days after a tightening appointment.
Timeframe Both Invisalign and ClearCorrect can straighten patients' teeth in less than 18 months. Braces typically take between 18 and 24 months to straighten the teeth.
