Dental Implants

When you lose a tooth, the gap in your smile can make everyday tasks, like eating and speaking, painful and difficult.

Dental implants eliminate these problems and, unlike other tooth replacement options, keep your jaw strong to avoid more dental issues.

Are you missing a tooth? Czaplicki Family Dentistry in greater Milwaukee, WI, offers a suite of implant options to get you smiling again.

The Gold Standard in Tooth Replacement

Czaplicki Family Dentistry, conveniently located in Hales Corners, WI, near Milwaukee, uses proven methods and the latest dental technology to create beautiful smiles. Our dental  implants provide a lifetime of benefits:

Enhanced Comfort

The titanium or ceramic posts of dental implants are used to anchor restorations like dentures, preventing them from slipping during meals or casual conversation.

Lasting Benefits

While the crowns, bridges, and dentures attached to dental implants may need replacement over the years, a successful titanium or ceramic implant can last for the rest of your life

Improved Oral Health

Perhaps most importantly, implants can stop the bone loss that occurs after losing a tooth. Implants are the only modern dental treatment capable of providing this invaluable benefit.

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost?

Every case is unique, but in general, a single tooth implant costs on average between $2,500 and $5,000 at Czaplicki Family Dentistry in Hales Corners, WI, near Milwaukee. The price will vary based on the type of implant and how many procedures are required. While implants do cost more upfront, they are the only tooth replacement option that keeps your jaw healthy.

For at least 10 years I had complained to my previous, long time dentist that my bite was off. He insisted I was grinding my teeth. I knew that wasn't true because I would find pieces of my teeth in food as I chewed. I had chewed my 3 bridges down to bare metal and my lower, front teeth were wearing down. Dr. Don evaluated my problem, agreed my bite was off and came up with a plan to restore my entire mouth. After almost a year, my teeth have all been crowned, and the bridges replaced with implants. Dr. Don did a full mouth restoration, and now my teeth should now last for the rest of my life. Another bonus is that I now have a mouth full of white teeth! Dr. Don and his assistants were so easy to work with. All were very professional, very caring and the entire procedure was just about painless. His office staff was so helpful scheduling my appointments. Can't say enough about Czaplicki Family Dentistry, just wish I had found them 10 years ago.

Dental implants are recommended to many patients...

Protect Your Jaw with Dental Implants

The roots of your natural teeth play a crucial role in maintaining the strength of your jawbone. After a tooth is lost, the bone tissue in your jaw begins to shrink, or atrophy. Left untreated, this issue can lead to further tooth loss and even affect the shape of your face. In fact, jawbone atrophy can actually make you look older than you are.

Titanium or ceramic implants effectively replace missing tooth roots, preventing further bone atrophy, improving your jaw health, and keeping your facial features as youthful as possible. It's the closest thing to having your natural teeth back.

All-on-4 Full Arch Dentures Life-Changing Treatment in One Day

If you have been missing teeth for a while, you may be among the many dental patients that have lost the bone density needed for an implant-supported denture. With the All-On-4® method, Czaplicki Family Dentistry and their trusted oral surgeons overcome many bone density issues and let patients enjoy the beauty and security of dentures held in place by implants.

Understanding Dental Implants

An implant-supported restoration has three parts: the implant, the abutment, and the restoration. The implant itself is a small titanium or ceramic post that acts as an artificial tooth root. The post then provides exceptional support for a crownbridge, or denture. By replacing the entire structure of the tooth, an implant-supported restoration offers an unrivaled level of stability, comfort, and appearance.

We Use Advanced Technology  for Excellent Results

At our Milwaukee-area practice, we use state-of-the-art diagnostic and imaging tools to plan your dental implant treatment. For example, all of our x-rays are performed digitally.

In addition, our ORTHOPHOS® SL 3D imaging system creates high-definition, panoramic views of your jaw, allowing us to identify the optimal positions for each implant.

When it comes to the implants themselves, we mostly use posts from the Astra Tech Implant System, one of the most reliable implant brands in the world.

Curious How Dentures Will Affect Your Looks?

Our patients appreciate being actively involved in designing their smiles and seeing how dentures affect their facial features. When you get full-mouth implant-supported dentures at Czaplicki Family Dentistry in greater Milwaukee, WI, we can do a facial analysis that will show how you look wearing your new dentures before treatment even begins.

While the treatment is lengthier than alternatives, receiving implants is an investment in your long-term oral health...

What to Expect During Treatment

For most patients, replacing teeth with dental implants requires multiple visits to our Milwaukee-area office and can take several months to complete. Our dentists will carefully plan your treatment to provide the most successful results possible.

We use our precision-driven CEREC system to create your restoration, ensuring the best possible fit.

Treatment is broken down into several distinct phases...

We use our precision-driven CEREC system to create your restoration, ensuring the best possible fit.

Consultation

During your initial consultation, our dentist will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your oral health and discuss your medical history with you. We will also take digital x-rays and 3-D cone-beam CT scans to assess your jawbone, gums, sinuses, and any remaining teeth.

Preparatory Procedures

If you have dental health concerns, including insufficient bone tissue or periodontal disease, you may need to undergo preparatory procedures such as bone grafting before receiving implants. Depending on the treatment, it can take several months to heal before your implants can be placed.

Implant Placement

During surgery, an oral surgeon will embed implant posts into the jawbone. The number of implants you need will depend on the size of the restoration you are receiving. The area will be numbed before treatment begins and sedation is available for patients who desire a deeper level of relaxation.

Healing Period

It takes an average of three to six months for implants to fully fuse with the jawbone. We will monitor your progress during this time to ensure the site is healing properly.

Final Restoration

Once your implants have completely fused with the jaw, Dr. Czaplicki can attach abutments and, shortly after, a custom crown, bridge, or denture for a completely restored smile

Initial recovery takes only a few days...

Most Patients Return to Work Two to Three Days after Surgery

While it will take three to six months for your implants to completely integrate, the initial healing process is much shorter. You may experience swelling, bleeding, or discomfort for the first 48 hours or so after implant surgery.

During this time, you should:

  • Avoid strenuous physical activity
  • Use ice packs to reduce swelling
  • Take all prescribed medications
  • Be careful when brushing

Dr. Czaplicki can give you more detailed recovery instructions before your procedure so you can prepare for your recovery following surgery.
